I know someone who is on a lease but refuses to give up their key to the residence. They claim to still a resident of the domicile and will not pay rent or utilities but still insist that they are entitled to enter the residence. What is the legal way to fix this problem? This person does not reside in the home any longer but for some reason feels entitled to maintain copies of the house key and mailbox key. Is this legal? I am not the landlord but a co-applicant on the lease.
